Review: Universal Renovation is an amazing company! I rate them a solid 10 out of 10. The owner, Guy, is excellent—extremely methodical and professional. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and encourages questions, making the entire renovation process feel smooth and transparent. You are truly in good hands with Guy and his team. Review: We found U.R. from web search, trying to find a company that could remodel our home's existing bathroom to have functionality and aesthetic renovations. The bathroom had to have some accessibility options added (for elderly adults), so we requested a complete walk-in shower, with no floor threshold, grab bars, and replacement of toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, tiles, etc.
Our point-person was Guy, the owner, who gave us a competitive estimate for the work. The work is done by a team (we had two working from 9-5, 1-hour break) and I personally have no complaints about their efficiency. Original estimate to complete the job was under 3 weeks it was completed ahead of schedule.
We are very satisfied with the work completed in our bathroom. Tiles were floor to ceiling and floor was mosaic 'river rock' design (for anti-slip). It truly feels like another world inside that bathroom!
Guy's workers were very polite and respectable around us. Considering Covid-19, they were in masks throughout the day with few exceptions (like lunch and sitting on front stoop). Guy made a point to be over nearly daily and for any days that he was not there, there was definitely phone contact.
I've looked at other reviews and will take note of reports of Guy's approach. Personally, this did not bother me at all. He knows what he is doing and the work is quality. His workers responded to him quite well and he was not afraid to let them know if he was not happy with the outcome of a construction, and yes, he will tell them to do it over if need be.
Pricing was definitely fair. Let's be honest, you can save money if you go and purchase materials on your own, which is what I did. Picked up my own tiles, bathroom basics (toilet, vanity, cabinet, lights, etc) had them delivered to my home and the company installs them for you.
Also, after this job was completed and because of the positive experience, I went in on another bathroom remodel for our second floor.

Review: We live in an old Brooklyn Heights co-op apartment building where everything is uneven and involves lots of rules. Guy and Sergio assessed what was the best action for each the situation (ceiling needed to be built out, pipes needed changing) while staying within our budget. More important, the job wasn’t rushed. The homemade tiles and ornate wallpaper I had selected for our bathrooms were timely and difficult to install -- the results were great (see photos). We couldn’t be happier with the bathrooms, thanks to Sergio’s fastidious eye and aesthetic (he has a background in ceiling ornamentation) and Guy’s experience.

Review: I needed a custom bathroom job that would accommodate my brother with special needs and my father with dementia. Guy came up with some innovative ways to allow water to be scattered throughout the bathroom without having to worry about water seeping into the basement. The bathroom turned out beautifully and super functional for our unique needs. I spoke with other contractors who did not understand my specific needs and wanted to put bandaids on the problem. Guy was the only one who gave me the confidence that his team could do the the custom job and do it with attention to detail and quality. I will definitely be calling him again for my future renovation needs and I would highly recommend him to anyone!
